Missouri: a Casey's story, plus new retailer incentives

All but one of Missouri's listed public biodiesel stations are Casey's stores, which began offering B20 across much of the chain's Midwest footprint. Coverage follows Casey's small-town map: strong across the northern and central parts of the state and along I-70 and I-44, thinner in the Bootheel and the southern Ozarks. Kansas City has the most sites; St. Louis proper has few.

Missouri is also a major biodiesel producer, and in 2022 the legislature added incentives on the retail side: a per-gallon biodiesel retailer tax credit for selling B5–B10, with a higher rate for B11 and above, available from 2023 through 2028, alongside a producer credit. Expect the station count to keep growing while those credits run.

Tips for Missouri drivers

• I-70 between Kansas City and Columbia and the US-36 corridor are the easiest places to find B20.
• Most Missouri stations list B20 year-round; only a handful report a winter blend, so in a hard cold snap use an anti-gel additive as you would with regular diesel.
